Bite-proof your puppy

Teach your puppy now about things people (especially children) might do that dogs don't naturally accept: pulling her tail, taking her toys, or going near her food bowl or sleeping area.

Condition early

To prevent biting accidents later, condition your puppy to tolerate and even enjoy any kind of handling. Hug her, pull gently on her ears and tail, and tug gently on her fur. At the same time, feed her treats from your hand. Treats are essential. Just doing strange things to your puppy will not necessarily teach her to tolerate this from others. When your dog has been conditioned, and a toddler runs up and yanks her tail, she is more likely to look at you as if to say, "Where is my treat?" than to snap at the annoyance. Continue this conditioning at least monthly.

Sharing

Although dogs don't naturally share, you can teach your puppy to give up her toys, bones, food and resting place by associating the approach of people with good things. When you first get your puppy, feed her at least some food by hand. If she shows any sign of unhappiness with you near her food bowl, feed her food by hand for the first two weeks. this teaches her that hands near her food is okay. As your puppy eats from her bowl, walk by and toss a treat near the bowl, so she leaves the bowl to get the treat. This teaches her it's okay to move away from her bowl when a person approaches. After a few meals, move to tossing the treats into her bowl while she is eatting, and then, to putting your hand into the bowl with the treat.

Do not take the bowl away and give it back

This teaches your puppy you are unreliable and that she needs to protect her food or eat it really quickly. If there is more than one dog in your home, these actions should be done in a private space (with no other dogs around) for a few weeks.

Exchanging things with puppy
Practice exchanging things with your puppy to interest her in an item she likes as much as the toy she's playing with. Give her your item and take away hers. Or, give her a treat in exchange for her toy. Then, give the toy back. Ensure every experience your puppy has with people approaching her things or special places comes with a reward. She is less likely to become defensive later. - Joan Orr is president of Doggone Safe, an organization dedicated to dog bite prevention

Or you can use the scissor; this is the last option for you. You should take notice when you use the scissor never try to cut the hair at one time. It will make your hand incredibly hurt. You should cut the hair a little by little. It will be better.

WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE CLIPPING A DOG

Some problems of beginners are that they don’t know where to start. They don’t know how to do; they don’t know when the right time is. That thing is a barrier which slows them, pull them back. As a result, they choose the easiest way… take a trip to groomers. If you are one of them, you will find these advice below really hit the spot.

Start right now with your puppy
You want to clip your dog?? Does it as early as possible because it is much harder to get your dog accept the clipping. The puppy, anyway, will be more obedient and easier to be trained.
However, better late than ever, you still can make an older dog to obey you, as long as you make an effort, you can deal with your mighty, mischievous dog. But, don’t expect too much, you won’t gain anything in a short time.
If you have to cope with an older dog, there is a tip for you, treat them, give them rewards (maybe a toy, food, or anything them like) after they obey your commands. Eventually, they will be a well-trained dog, this way always works.

Check out your dog’s breed standard
You should look some picture or video about your dog should be like before you groom them unless you want them look ridiculous. Some common mistake of the beginner, they clip the hair too short. But, don’t upset, your dog might have imperfect hair for some days; nevertheless, it will eventually grow up. So you don’t need to care too much about it.
Be sure you know how the dog’s coat should look and how to make it that way before you tend to groom, not after that. It means that you should carefully think about it, image how you will do it, and consider whether it suit to your dog.

Look for some tips from the experienced one
Check out for tips on the websites or YouTube channels is also a good way; some breed club provides the guideline for dog lover how their dog should look. If you have a friend or a college who has already groomed their dog, why don’t you ask them to teach you? Learning from a friend is never old.
Besides, you can gain some advice from the professional groomers to shave your dog’s coat. They have experience on working with dogs, they know what the dogs habit, and how to care them best. Sometimes, you find it not easy to deal with the ears or private part… well, you should take note the way the professional do it and you can find the smartest way to solve the problems.
Another choice is looking for guidance from people like you who feel like grooming their dog at home. Some people find it better suit to them than the advice of professional groomers. They just like you, they do not have elevated table to support their work, they don’t wear masks to protect their health (just the first time, maybe), or they do not know where is the best place in your house to groom those beautiful puppies.

Certainly, you can skillfully groom your dog after few times practice. But, you have to bear in mind that the most important thing is doing safely. You will not want to hurt your dog as they are your best friend.
